The wait for Ram Gopal Verma's much-anticipated movie 'Phoonk' has come to an end, with the movie finally hitting the theaters. After spending sometime with the underworld, in 'Sarkar' and 'Sarkar Raj', Ramu has come back to his favorite genre - horror. Though we didn't get the same scares as 'Bhoot', 'Phoonk' is definitely a movie that you will enjoying watching in theaters, especially if you like horror flicks.

This time, instead of ghosts, RGV has taken black magic as the center point of his movie. Throughout the time you spend in the theater, the movie holds your attention and does not let you feel bored. In the movie, emphasis has been laid on camera effects, lightning and artifacts, in order to create the right, scary ambience. The background score only serves to add to the whole mystery and horror. One can actually feel the genius of RGV flowing from the movie.

Even from the technical angles, there is nothing about which you can complain. As far as performances go, the child artist Ehsaas is definitely someone who has to be applauded. She plays the part of a girl who seems to have been possessed by an evil spirit, to utmost perfection. Then, there is the Kannada actor Sudeep, who makes an impressive debut in the movie. Even the rest of the cast, including Amruta, has done a good job.

If you liked the animation film My Friend Ganesha, then there is all probability that you will love its sequel that is slated to release on August 22. At least that is what the makers of My Friend Ganesha 2 are betting. The first part was a hit among children, who simply got infatuated by the westernized Ganesha.

The sequel, promises director Rajiv Ruia, is going to be a lot more fun. Providing just a little glimpse of what to expect, Ruia says that in My Friend Ganesha II the animated Hindu deity dons a modern appearance and speaks English flawlessly. ‘Now, please don't ask me to reveal the plot,’ requests Ruia.

The sequel of My Friend Ganesha has been produced by Baba Arts Limited, whereas Shringar Films will release the movie worldwide. The viewers will also see bhangra pop singer Mika in this movie. Ajhai Acharya of Baba Arts Limited remarks that it was massive popularity of 'My Friend Ganesha' which motivated inspired him to make the sequel.

Ajhai Acharya says, ‘The movie has been telecast 53 times on TV since its release in July last year. That itself is a proof of the fact that the concept was hit among children.’ Master Ali, Harsh Chhaya, Bhairavi Goswami, Suhasini Mulay, Sulbha Deshpande and Upasana Singh are among those who have acted in the sequel.

Whether you are one of the Mumbaikars, who witnessed the tragic bombings of 11th July 2006, or not 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' is a film that would surely make you cry. The best part of the movie is that it does not dwell on the concept of terrorism per se, rather it stresses on the aftermath of the tragedy. It tells you how the bomb blasts changed the life of people, those who became its victims, those who lost their loved ones as well as those who thanked God that they were not on any of the trains.

Nishikant Kamat is to be praised at the efforts he put in for making a movie that forces you to sit back and think. The execution of the script is so compelling that you feel as if you are a part of all the drama. Though the film is set against the backdrop of Mumbai blasts, it soon diversifies into five different stories, of different people, to whom you can easily relate. While there are bit flaws here and there, you hardly seem to notice them. The performance of actors is such that you cannot help, but feel emotional.

Talking about actors, Paresh Rawal definitely takes the cake. His scenes, especially the ones including Vijay Maurya, are extremely touching. The latter one also gives a superb performance. Then, we have Irrfan Khan, who is at his very best in 'Mumbai Meri Jaan'. Soha Ali Khan, as the reporter who witnesses the tragedy, has evolved more with time and definitely deserves applause. Last, but not the least, is R. Madhavan, who at time, doesn't even need to say a word, yet conveys so much. All in all, 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' is an excellent film that will appreciated by all the mature audience!

After watching Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam, we sincerely wish we could have said 'Maan Gaye Sanjay Chhel'. Alas, this could not happen as we found hardly a few scenes in the movie that could be classified as 'worth-appreciating'. First of all, 'Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam' is one of those loud comedies that we have left far behind. If that wasn't enough, the continuity in screenplay is seriously lacking in the movie.

Though the writer has tried to add a punch to every single line in the film, there are many times when the humor falls totally flat. The story is not strong enough and on top of that, there are irrelevant songs in the movie that make no sense at all. Crisper editing and somewhat more competent direction was surely the need of the hour here. How did the director manage to bring out so loud performances from such brilliant actors, is a question we still have no answer to.

Paresh Rawal, though pretty loud, serves as the only saving grace of the film. Moving on to Mallika Sherawat, she hardly knew acting before also, but this time even her cleavage failed to create any ripples. Kay Kay Menon was completely miscast in the movie, while Pavan Malhotra was wasted. However, what we were left wondering is how could the much-talented Rahul Bose be in such a movie. By the way, why was Tanaaz Currim trying to pull off a Punjabi accent?
