BJP demands Pawan Kalyan’s arrest

There was a new twist to the long drawn out bigamy case filed by Nandini, first wife of Pawan Kalyan. The case has been going on for over a year now. Nandini found unexpected support from the Bharatiya Janata Party. Any woman can file a case and get her husband arrested after which the proceedings can begin if she finds that he is involved in bigamy.

The senior BJP leader K Vidyasagar Rao said that the police have failed to do their duty by not arresting Pawan Kalyan based on prima facie evidence. Speaking to the media the Party’s official representative M Ramachandra Rao and Jhansi Rani say that a suitable bill was introduced for sucha case during NTR’s rule but since the assembly proceedings are not on, one can get the actor immediately arrested.

Vidyasagar Rao said that despite having all evidence with her, Nandini is still fighting for justice. The BJP leader also felt that there was a need to mend the criminal code procedure so that the police can take quick action. Vidyasagar Rao said that the incidence of bigamy was growing up day by day and a suitable amendment to the law was needed to protect unfortunate victims like Nandini.
