Bhajji banned for 11 IPL matches

Harbhajan Singh was found guilty today (April 28) for slapping S Sreesanth in Mohali post match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab on Friday (April 25). Sources close to TIMES NOW said that Bhajji has been banned for eleven matches, which implies that he will not be a part of the Indian Premier League tournament.

Bhajji pleads guilty

The BCCI had on Saturday (April 26) issued a Show Cause notice to Harbhajan Singh demanding an explanation of slapping S Sreesanth after the match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab in Mohali on Friday (April 25). Today (April 28) Bhajji replied to the Show Cause notice in a letter and has pleaded guilty for his actions.

Harbhajan in his letter to the BCCI said that he regrets slapping Sreesannth in Mohali in a match against the Kings XI Punjab. Bhajji also apologized for hurting Sreesanth's sentiments.

More trouble for Bhajji

The BCCI today (April 28) appointed advocate Sudhir Nanavati as Commissioner to conduct a preliminary inquiry into Harbhajan Singh's alleged slapping of India teammate and IPL rival S Sreesanth.

"As per the constitution, BCCI has appointed Sudhir Nanavati, Advocate, Ahmadabad as Commissioner to make preliminary inquiry and call for explanation from the concerned person(s) and submit his report within 15 days to BCCI President Sharad Pawar to look into the matter of disciplinary action against Harbhajan Singh," the Cricket Board said in a statement here.
